D Pack Cub Newsletter

Dear Cubs & Parents,

Over the past two weeks the Pack has been working on the Tender Pad requirements leading up to the investiture of new Cubs, Sixers and Seconders. The ceremony will take place next Wednesday, the 11th of October, at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Wisdom. (The meeting will start at its usual time, we just need a bit of time to prepare.) Parents and family are encouraged to remain for this meeting.

As you may have heard from your Cub after last weeks meeting, the chocolate bars have arrived for this fall's fund raising event. We have 15 bars for each cub, which sell for $2.00 each, for a total of $30 per cub. The bars will be handed out Wednesday and cubs are encouraged to sell as many of these as possible by Halloween. Unsold bars can be returned to the pack and redistributed if some cubs wish to sell more.

As many of you are aware, I was unable to attend the Pack meeting last week due to work related travel to Victoria. This, and a suprise visit by district, was a short notice challenge for the pack but we have three great leaders who jumped in and ran with the program. They will be bringing me up to date on the meeting and the Group Committee meeting this Wednesday, after which I will pass any new information on to you in the next newsletter.

For those that were able to attend the Icebreaker Camp, I hope everyone had a great time with us. It was wet, but we managed to keep busy and have fun despite the weather.

I have placed a pack website on the net (shamelesly copied from my old B Pack) and everyone is encouraged to visit the site ofrtten for updates on the program and copies of all newsletters. This site is at http://home.ican.net/~jenseng/cubs/cubs.html . Please feel free to make suggestions for improvement of either the website or the program in general. Both will be more fully developed over the next few weeks.

As always, if there are any questions, please call me at 841-5667 or send me an email.
