For those of you new to the Minelab detector line there has been an add on accessory available for the Sovereign that turned it into a machine like no other. Made by Sunray the S-1 Probe was such popular product that when Sovereign users switched to the Explorer many actually carried the Sovereign control box on there hip so they could have the SR-1 probe when they used the Explorer.
Here is a picture of the soon to be shipped X-1 Probe attached to the Explorer.
Basically what the X-1 Probe is a miniature water proof coil that you use as a pin pointer. With a flick of the switch the probe becomes the coil. What is so amazing is that it runs through the circuits of the detector. That is the readings on the display screen showing exactly as if you were using the stock coil. Even the depth indicator on the Explorer works ( on a different scale ) with the X-1 Probe{coil}. 1 inch in diameter and 9 inchs long it fits into a clip housing on the side of the battery pack. In all Smart Find mode it has a depth of about 3 inchs and a range of about 21/2 inchs in all metal pinpoint mode.. All signal responses are also heard through the head phones.
Because the Probe can be used in Smart Find mode while trying to find a down hole target you will not be chasing down errand targets like nails and the like as with other non discriminating pin pointers.
