A problem has turned up with the Explorer getting cracks in it's main housing. It is a warranty item but as of now a good fix is not available from Minelab. As I understand it they are working on a improvement for it but it is not ready just yet. If you send it away for the warranty work they just replace the housing and cracks reappear. Will let you know when I hear more.

 

explorercrck1Here is where to look to see if  you are developing cracks on your Explorer. When I assembled the machine for the first time I found the cam-lever to be very hard to fold closed. I knew from posts that some people where having trouble because they were not seating the up shaft far enough into the housing and that was giving them problems.

I made sure that I had seated it properly but I still l got cracks. See below.
