Our First home

The rather formal look of our dining area with the stained glass windows closed. Usually it looks more homey than this!
I'm sure the most distinctive feature of our home is the stained glass windows that make for a rather spectacular view from the dining room.  The original owner had the good sense to put these windows on hinges so that they could be opened (with plate glass windows behind them, of course) lighting up a good part of the living area.  Above they are pictured closed which makes for quite a formal atmosphere (don't you think?).  For most of the day we leave them open, however.  I enjoy looking out on the Milton-Parc co-op apartments across the street which have just the right mix of elegance & homeyness for my tastes. Take note: this is shot with a wide angle lens which distorts the depth.Hearth and Home - a real woodburning fireplace is of benefit when we want to create a cozy atmosphere on a cold December night.  The print chair was our last purchase from the now defunct Eaton's in downtown Montréal.  To the left is the entranceway to our home.

The study / work area.
In the foreground is the oak chair and the computer desk where all my web-pages are created.  The ladder leads to a small loft above, delight of children, bane to our adult guests who must sleep there.

The kitchen is right in the middle of the action in our condo.
