While adopting makes the ultimate difference to those innocents who land on our doorstep, there are many other areas in which The Way Home can use your generous support.
.
Donations:
.
Monetary Gifts are most welcome.  Without cash we  would be unable to meet the necessary medical needs, and many other expenses, that are entailed in a rescue operation.
.
Food is second only in importance to medical attention.  Since most rescue cats arrive in poor condition, good quality food is preferred.
.
Treat and toy donations help tame less-socialized animals, and demonstrate that human hands can also offer kindness.
.
Litter donations are always needed.  Clumping kinds are preferred by all.
.
Bedding because all cats love to snuggle.  We need blankets, bath towels, bath mats and toilet seat covers.  In short, anything that is soft and snuggly and washes well.
.
Cleaning products are a must for keeping cages, bedding, litter boxes etc. clean and sanitary.  We go through lots of laundry detergent, bleach and various other cleaners every week.
.
Volunteers:
.
Helpers to socialize the animals, clean cages, etc.
.
Drivers who are able to transport kittens and cats to and from the vets, foster or adoptive homes, and into rescue.  Since we co-ordinate with rescue groups in other communtities; drivers for the entire Niagara region are required.  Crates are used for all transportations.  Please indicate which area(s) you are most comfortable with.
.
Alternative Residences:
.
Foster Homes for temporarily housing rescued felines.  As there are variations in temperament, age, and levels of care, we will make every effort to match animals, comfortably, with your lifestyle.
.
Barn Homes are an excellent alternative for feral types that have rarely been touched by human hands, and/or have never had the benefit of loving care.  Though not good "pet" prospects they still require "permanance of home" with a good food source and minimal human interaction.
Some journeys are more tiring than others!

The Way Home now has charitable  status.  We will be happy to provide income tax receipts for all donations over $10.00.
